Never mind the 2300 you got on the third retake, or the 2370 superscore you have after three tries: What did you score on your very first SAT, and how much prep did you do?

EDIT: This does not include 7th and 8th grade scores from programs like Duke TIP and John Hopkins Talent Search.

Freshman year: 2270 (740 CR, 790 M, 740 W). I didn’t do any direct preparation, but I had spent a little time reading techniques online (mostly on CC) in the days preceding the test.

Junior year: 2400. I became really involved on CC with helping people, especially with Writing questions. I learned the words in Direct Hits and did several Blue Book practice tests.

Freshman year: 1850 (700 M, 610 W, 540 CR). The only preparation I did was looking* at a SAT Math book by Kaplan and I did two practice sections the night before the test. I don’t know whether it made a difference on my performance, though. I took the test for CTY (and I got in! :)).

*or would it be: …I did was that I looked…?

My first take was in October of 2009. I did absolutely no preparation aside from a couple of useless preparatory classes in eighth grade. The school talent show, which I won, was also the night before, so I was running on very little sleep.

I got a 2190. 770 math, 770 writing, 650 reading. I have always been a relatively strong math student, and I am also a grammar whore. However, the reading score was merely due to a lack of preparation.

I am in grade 10 < Is it the freshman year?
My first SAT was May 2010 SAT test. I took 1690 after just doing one practice test where I scored a lot higher than my real SAT score; however, I am not depressed and will prepare hardly to hit 2200+ in October 2010. May God help me.

2230 from March of this year, but my CR score was 90 points lower than what the converted CR score was from the PSAT. That was with little preparation though, and since all of those missed questions were passage based, I am confident I could raise my score back up to 800 with some preparation.
