I'll be an incoming freshman next summer, and I was just wondering what your typical weekday schedule was like in your freshman year.

I give you a quick overview of what today was like/will be like for me:

1040: get up for class, shower, go to class
11-12: Calc
12-1: get lunch, take train over to lab where I work
1-5: work
5-630: come back, chill in dorm room, waste time (fb, stumbleupon, etc)
630: dinner
700: come back, play n64 for an hour, more hanging out
9-12ish: Library fun time
12-130 or 2: screw around in the guise of doing work
2-whenever i finish: actually do the work that is due the next day, then sleep

I usually have more than one class a day, which are both earlier and later than calc, so I’m just getting up earlier and then not going to work. The afternoon/evening/night is pretty much constant though

Be prepared to have much more free time than you expect.

Fall term…I have a pretty beast schedule.

It was basically get up around 9-10 AM depending on the day, go get some breakfast then go back to the dorm and take a shower. Go to some classes, maybe go back to the dorm room and **** around on the internet for a bit, and then go to some afternoon classes. **** around in the dorm some more, go out and get some dinner with some friends, then go back play some video games, maybe do some homework or something, or hang out with some friends more depending on if I had a test or something coming up, and then go to bed.

My hardest days were Mondays and Wednesdays…

7:00 AM - Wake up
8:15 AM to 9:05 AM - Journalism class
10:20 AM to 11:10 AM - Lit class
11:25 AM - 12:15 PM - Latin
12:30 to 2:45 - Lunch, free time usually spent doing some reading
2:45 to 4:00 - Acting class
After 4, my afternoon/evening was free to do what I liked. I usually went off to dinner around 6 or 7 with my friends–hallmates, typically–then came back and did my HW for the next day or two.

There is a lot of unstructured free time, and yeah, you can use it to goof off and have fun, but a large portion of it should be spent getting work done and preparing for classes. I spent more time doing HW and studying freshman year than any of my other years. you’ll get a feel for your workload though and figure out how you work best.

"lol jesus christ what do you guys major in? basket weaving? "

■■■■■.

This is a really interesting thread. I’m currently a senior in HS, and I had the preconceived notion that college was going to be really busy. I guess not haha… I’m looking forward to college.

^^I think someone else posted about how you get a lot of unstructured time. Time that ought to be used to do homework but you end up using to do, well, anything that ISN’T homework :P

Usually I wake up around 9ish, get breakfast, go to work, go to classes (either one or four, depending on the day) come back to my room, do homework, hang around with friends, and then on weeknights I’ll go to bed around 1, weekends I party so whenever I get back I pass out lol.

My weekdays are pretty much chockful. MWF are all the same and T/TH kinda suck.

Let’s just do my Tuesday:

5:15 AM - wake up for Semper Fi (intense workout of Marine Corps options, I’m not one but participate because it improves overall fitness)
6:00 AM - begin Semper Fi
7:00 AM - Finish, go back to dorm, shower, put on appropriate civilian attire for class
8:10 - 9:35 AM - naval science class
Then I will have breakfast with some of the midshipmen until about 10:00.
10:30 - 12:00 PM do study hours (we have to do ten every week)
12:00 - 12:45 PM - lunch
1:10 -4:00 PM - physics lab
4:10 - 5:00 PM - math dissertation
5:15 -7:00 PM - physics tutoring and additional study hours.
I usually then meet up with friends for a late lunch and then relax a bit in my dorm before bed.

My schedule is pretty much like that. Although I am NROTC midshipman so my schedule will be a lot more insane than most. I like it, though.
