What do As on a course but a score of 3 indicate?

I got As on all my courses...and yet after studying my butt off I get 3s on all the 6 APs I took, including AP Calc AB???
wth?

I got a 2240 on SAT, 800 in Math, 790 in Math lv 2 and 730 in Physics... a 100.5 on my AMC 12.

So I refuse to believe I'm dumb. Whats going on?!

Could it be my school? Its a pretty mediocre school so..I guess I understand. Its all so depressing.
I don't know if I could blame my teachers (though I wish they were a LOT better than they are...)

I would assume that the teachers didn’t prepare you well… if it weren’t for your other test scores then I’d say your grades were inflated, but perhaps the teachers just don’t give you the right information. If you are taking AP’s again this year, please supplement your class notes with a Prep Book and you should do much better.

All the 6 APs? Did you self-study all of them?

You got a 3 on Calculus AB? Don’t you need like a 50% to get a 5?

Which AP exams did you take? List them.

well for Calculus AB, you need about 70 points out of 108 to get a 5. I assume that 50% would be a 3 or low 4.

Wow 3’s on all AP. Did you prepare well for all of your AP exams? There could be chances that your FR booklet could be lost, but I doubt that happening.

No self study…they were all school taught. Well, okay, not all my scores are 3s. Still, I feel bad I didn’t get at least one 5.
ap english = 3
ap bio = 3
ap physics B = 4
ap stats = 4
ap euro = 3
ap calc ab = 3

I’m really ****ed about the calc score…actually, the Calc AB score was delayed for me…I don’t know what happened, but at first, the score didn’t appear on the score card…they told me to wait for a month.
then in september, I got mail saying i got a …3…on Calc AB

I really refuse to believe that. I can’t get a 3!! how?!? I prepped so hard for this. And I’m really good in math!!! so how?!?

is it really possible that they might have lost my answer sheet? I know I did well on this test…

Yeah, I would probably blame the delay process.

The 4s are nothing to cry about, especially on AP Physics B, an intense course stuffed with materials that chances are your teacher didn’t get to fully cover.

AP English - subjective. Perhaps your teacher didn’t do enough multiple-choice practice with your class.

AP Bio - very broad course covering a huge range of material. I’ve never heard of a teacher who could throughly teach all of it.

AP Euro - lots of details.

AP Calc - as you said, possibly a score mix-up.

It seems likely that your teachers prepared you guys for the material sufficiently but forgot to prepare for the exam. Being able to do calculus will not necessarily gain one a good score on the AP Calc exam. The same thing goes for physics, as both courses have tricky problems that require prior preparation with the exam in mind to do well on. AP scores play a minimal role in the admissions process, so don’t worry about it.
