<p>I just wanted to get some real opinions from students at Columbia about Columbia GS.</p>

<p>The Columbia v Harvard thread deals with this issue A LOT (exp. after about page 2)! It is clearly a very emotionally fraught conversation to have, so enter that thread at your own risk. It is safe to say that NO ONE is indifferent.</p>

<p>Emotionally fraught? I’ve seen none of that. GS students are treated no differently than the other students, as far as I’ve seen. I has friends in all of the colleges. If anything, I would say the controversy comes in Barnard’s poorly defined relation to Columbia, but that was recently more vitriol that Obama was speaking there instead of at the Columbia College/ SEAS commencement than anything else.</p>
<p>I can say that I have never once heard anything derogatory said towards GS students, but maybe that’s just me.</p>
<p>Um, Malapropism, what I am saying is that the arguments on the thread in question – Columbia v Harvard – suggest some emotional “fraught-ness” about GS, not that the GS/CC relationship IS actually emotionally fraught. Read the thread, and you’ll see.</p>
