What do colleges see on your transcript?

Do colleges see which classes you took each year of high school? Or is it just a list of your classes with the grades? Due to scheduling conflicts, I have to take Biology this year instead of last, and I'm worried that colleges will think that I didn't have good enough grades to get into honors biology freshman year.

They see the rigor of the courses you attend

My daughter’s transcript lists classes by year. The senior year classes she is now taking are listed, but without grades, of course.

As a student, you should be able to request a copy of your transcript. This is a particularly good idea to do before you apply to college.

There are lots of things to worry about with regard to college applications, but this isn’t one of them. Some high schools offer courses in a different order than others. Colleges know that scheduling can be difficult, particularly in a small school. The fact that you took biology honors is more important than when you took it.

That is a question to ask your guidance counselor. Each high school’s transcript is a little bit different.

obviously this is going to depend on your HS. Go to your counselor and ask to see a sample.
