What do colleges usually do with students who don't meet immunization reqs?

The college I am attending requires this vaccine that is usually on a six month schedule. There wasn't six months between the acceptance letter and the first day of classes, so I don't know what these people at campus health are doing. I got the three dose emergency traveller's vaccine, but it requires a booster shot in a year so I don't know if they will accept that (have to phone tomorrow). In addition, there is a cutoff for this vaccine that says "if you were born before July 1st, 1994 you don't need it), well I was born a few days after so it's more bureaucratic BS working against me. What are they going to do? Throw me out? Tell me that I have to stay home during the fall 2013 semester and come for the winter one?

My brother did have a necessary vaccine because of the time frame issue you mentioned. He was just required to stay on schedule with the vaccine.

C’mon now. If you picked up the phone and called your college, you can have this issue resolved in 3 minutes. You aren’t going to find the answer here.

I can’t call until tomorrow.

Bump!!!

And you can’t get an answer that you can count on tonight, because none of us knows what college (or what vaccination) you’re talking about. And none of us needs to know either, because even if we did know, we could not answer on the college’s behalf.

I know Sikorsky, but this is like the worst situation I have ever been in. At the very least they could let me miss the fall semester and go in the spring semester. Don’t you think? The prospect sounds very bad though. I wouldn’t even be able to have a graduation ceremony.

Oddly enough, despite the fact that it’s the worst situation you’ve been in, it doesn’t grant us a definitive answer that will ease your fears. Be patient. What they tell you tomorrow will not change based on what we tell you tonight. Good luck.

Woohoo!!! I get to go to college!!!
