What do counselors do per college I'm applying to?

<p>At my high school, they are the counselor for ~300 students each. For each college I apply to, do they simply have to sign a short form/mail the same thing per school or do they have to fill out all sorts of different forms & handwrite some student info multiple times.</p>

<p>I'm just curious because I plan on applying to ~8-9 schools and I feel bad for them haha.</p>

<p>Depends on the individual school, many use the common app while some use the common app + supplemental forms or even have their own app entirely.</p>
