What do CSUs do with courses that exceed the 70 units limit?

Hello everyone  , I am a community college student planning on transferring to cal poly next fall.
On the CSUMentor web page, it says that the maximum number of units a CCC student may transfer to a CSU is 70 units. But to maximize my chances of admission, I am planning on receiving an AS-T before transferring to cal poly, so I ended up exceeding that limit by quite a lot (90+ units). So my question is, will the admissions office simply disregard any courses that do not articulate with the ones at their campus? or would they allow me to choose which courses i can transfer and which ones i cant?
I also was really interested in American History and wanted to learn a lot about it, so I ended up taking an extra class that satisfies the Social and Behavioral Sciences area of the IGETC. So now I have 4 classes that satisfy that requirement and I only really need 3 of them to complete the IGETC. on 1 of those classes, I got a B, and on the other 3 I got an A. So If I get to choose which courses to transfer to cal poly, would I be able to simply choose the 3 courses that I got an A on and disregard the 4th one since I am well over the 70 units limit? I am so confused
any information regarding this matter is appreciated, thanks!
