Spell "accepted" right if you use it in an essay. :D Kidding.

Hmm... 3.5 is all right, but you're right, you should probably raise it. The easiest way to do that is to take APs, which I'm assuming at your school raises your GPA if you get good grades.

SATs -- average SAT score at Stern is 1441/1600... that's roughly a 2160 on the new test. You should aim to get all your SAT IIs 700 and above too. And I think you need two? Not sure... I took three, because some of the other schools I applied to needed three.

Take any honors and APs you can. As long as you choose the most rigorous classes possible (without killing yourself), you boost your chances of admission. It doesn't really matter what math course you take, as long as they are challenging. Some people enter having taken courses past Calc BC; others haven't even taken Calc. It really depends on what your school offers.

You seem to have some leadership positions staked out, but I would add a couple more smaller ECs to make yourself seem more balanced. Student government is good. Or newspaper, math, or debate... any of those are good too. If you become an eagle scout, that's definitely a plus.

The languages thing... not really going to help. I mean, you can mention it, but I don't think it matters much, unless if you're a translator or something.

EDIT: This is the 2011 RD thread. You can check out the stats of people who got in, got rejected, etc. Stern kids are mixed in with everyone else, but there are a bunch of us. Some decisions seemed to be crapshoots, but you can see some patterns.
