I have taken so many practice SAT exams. My scores range from 1380-1480. My real score is 1400 (680V, 720M). I want to give it one last shot. My question is, what do I have to do to get over a 1500?

I feel like I dont need to read those stupid books and exercises anymore. I dont need to know the "GREAT USE of POE" or plugging. Do you guys agree?

Do you guys think the only thing left for me right now is to just keep on practicing? Everything else (studying vocab words, etc, etc) is useless? Which books do you recommend? Thanks

heh unbelivably you are in the EXACT same situation I was in. I had 1400, 680/720 breakdown. When I took it again I was determined to do better, while the first time I studied vocab the second time I relaxed a lot more with my studying. I did a practice test or two and the day before the test I just played poker with my friends. When I took the test again I was very relaxed and that helped a lot, especially for math. I pulled a 1500 for that test.

I got a 1460 the first time I took it and then a 1500 the second time. I think that just taking it again makes you go up because I really didnt study much or anything. Also you always (or at least usually) will go up from practice tests to the real thing. So if you got 1480s on practice tests you're in pretty good shape.

Really paprika? From my experiences practice tests are usually overestimates of what one will score on the real test. I think most would agree with me on this point also.

first time I took the sat without studying in May, I gotta 1350. then next time I studied by using the Real SAT only and did all the practices, I retook in June I gotta 1530...
