What do I need to transfer to William and Mary?

I am a current freshman at James Madison University. I want to transfer to William and Mary after 1 year. I want to know exactly what I need to be admitted as a transfer student so I can work toward that goal this year.

HS Stats:
High school GPA: 3.4
4 College in highschool classes
SAT: 1910
President of Marketing Club in HS
Vice President of Future Business Leaders
Captain of soccer team
volunteered at youth soccer camp every summer

Thank you.

Check out this helpful checklist. They also have a recommendations of suggested classes you should take if you want to be on track as well.

Good luck and I hope to see you part of the tribe!

What college GPA should I aim for with my stats above included for a good chance of admission? I’m looking for a goal to achieve.

<a href=“William and Mary Transfer and Admissions Information”>William and Mary Transfer and Admissions Information;

William and Mary Transfer acceptance rate is around 40%, it is not terribly hard, but I think your college GPA should be at least 3.5 to be competitive, higher if Merit based FA is needed. And since your HS grade is not that high, you’d better off to transfer after finishing sophomore so that the HS grade will not be a determine factor.

I hate when people ask the question “what GPA do I need to get?” Just shoot your highest so you can have as many options as possible. Shoot for as many As as you can get without avoiding hard classes.
