I want to know what I still need to do in order to raise my chances of getting into this school. I'll take classes at a community college if I have to.

So let me provide you with some general information about myself.
GPA: 3.72 (end of sophomore year, weighted)
currently a Junior from a very competitive school. so competitive, our principal did away with class rankings.

Freshman year:
Regular World History
Regular Biology
PreAP English
Regular Algebra 1
Guitar 1
Art 1
PE

Sophomore year:
AP World History
Regular Chemistry
PreAP English
Algebra 2 Honors
Latin 1
Art 2
PE

Junior year:
AP US History
AP Environmental Science
AP English
Regular PreCalc (Did Geometry over the summer online course)
Latin 2
Art 3
Photojournalism 1

So as you can see, my courses aren't too difficult. Which is why I'm worried.
I really want to get into the BCSA program.

Taking the SATs in March.

So please let me know what I need to do before I run out of time! :(
I'm trying to register for spring classes at my community college, I'm not sure if I get credits though.

Being an interesting person with interesting hobbies and ECs who writes an interesting essay will do far more for you than a couple of CC courses. But it can’t hurt to take some, I guess.

you obviously have a great interest in art. figure out why you want to incorporate CS into that, and start demonstrating your interest in CS. BCSA wants great candidates, but a lot of times the art friends I know who are interested in CS turn out to hate programming / mathematical thinking. It’s not a big deal if you don’t like it in the end, but try to figure out if you actually do love both subjects and do what you can to convey that to CMU

ooh alright so i’m thinking of taking CS at the community college if they have it in order to see whether i like it or not. i want to find out before my senior year and applications.

also on the CMU website it says this is required for a BCSA:
1 year Physics
2 years of Chemistry, Biology or Computer Science

do you know anyone that got into BCSA without these requirements?
because if not, i’m stuck with doing Physics Honors and AP Chem (or Bio) for senior year. it all seems so last second… =/

If you have the funds-- attend CMU precollege in the summer
If you do well you are most certainly going to be admitted.

I don’t see our community college classes would help as probably none of them would even transfer. If you can take a class at a respectable four year college that’s a different matter-- but I don’t think that is really going to matter as much as interesting ECs or even some type of interesting job/internship.
