What do I wear to an interview?

Basically, I have two interviews coming up and I am unsure of what to wear. I talked to my counselor who said I was allowed to wear jeans, but once I told my friends they told me that it was probably a bad idea. For that reason, I did look online, but everyone says that it depends on the program I am going into.

Both colleges I am interviewing with are liberal arts colleges on the east coast so there is no specific program that I am applying into.
At this point, I have a skirt, button-up shirt, and cardigan. Is this alright?

I would avoid jeans for an interview, but dress slacks would be acceptable. The clothes that you described sound fine.

Best wishes!

I’d say that business casual is a good way to go. My D wore (warmer weather) either a sundress and cardigan or (colder weather) black pants, nice black boots and a blouse (or shirt/cardigan).
