What do NYU students call themselves?

I was wondering if NYU students had a nickname for themselves. Like Illini for UIUC, Hoosiers for IU, Quakers for UPenn, and so on. Is there a name for NYU students?

There’s not a ton of school spirit so even though our mascot is the violets/bobcats people don’t generally refer to themselves by the mascot, like at other schools. People usually say “NYU kids” or “NYU students” in my experience

They call themselves lucky! But really, they don’t refer to themselves–ever–as violets. Just NYU students. Or will say so and so goes to NYU too.
