Do students go skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and if they do, what mountain is the most popular. I notice Syracuse is next to two big lakes and also Lake Erie. Do students ever go to hang out at Lake Erie or any of these lakes in the spring or right before fall? Do students go hiking? I am just trying to find out about the general area outside of the City of Syracuse since I can’t seem to find any. I’m from Rhode Island so I don’t really have the opportunity to tour until I get accepted.
@steve…evans10 Back in the day, I used to go skiing in Tully, NY at a place called Song Mountain - it was less than an hour from the SU Campus. As it relates to lakes, Lake Erie is very far away. Lake Ontario is closer, but I recall only going once in my four years at SU. Green Lakes State Park, though, is one of the most gorgeous places that I have ever been to, and I have traveled the world - 30 minutes from campus and you can hike/walk around the Green Lakes and take in the beautiful sights. You may want to google Green Lakes as the lakes have a really unique and interesting history. Oneida Lake is also not too far away from SU and has many recreational usess
