Student Life

I'm curious to how easy and much there is to do outside of campus. Are things unrelated to academics close by? As an architecture major I know I will be extremely busy, but when I do get free time, I do not want to be left in a boring town. I like adventure so ^_^ Any info will help.

Syracuse is only boring if you let it be. There are a few dance clubs downtown, one of the biggest malls in NYS just a free bus ride away, and plenty of cafes with music if that’s your thing. About 40 minutes away is Turning Stone Casino, which has gaming and a lot of concerts. Freshmen archies are DEFINITELY busy, but you get to take a trip to NYC (or at least the class 2 years ago did) for a diversion. Back downtown, there’s also the Museum of Science and Technology (actually pretty cool; you’ll see it at orientation), the Everson Museum (recently home to a PostSecret display), and frequent festivals and parades. If you’re looking for something more specific just let me know; this is just the stuff that I tend to gravitate toward.
