What do these college impressed letters mean?!!?

so nyu stern is my number one choice...

today they sent me a letter reading.... nyu is impressed with your standardized test scores.. are you impressed with nyu? should i be getting like excited?!?

i didnt release my sat scores... i got a 2370.. but do they know that already? and is this letter like a rlly good sign or something....

got this from

uchicago
st. lawrence
wash u st lous.. as well

Well they should be impressed with that score.

You will get the same letters from Harvard, Yale, and everyone else. They are marketing and it does not mean much to you as an applicant unless you want to apply to those schools.

They don’t mean anything, they send those to everyone.

How’s your GPA?

Nice SAT score. How are your ECs.

The letters mean nothing. They send them to everyone above 2100.

It is more like anyone above 180/1800 sat/psat. Especially UChicago.

It means nothing other than they paid the College Board for a list of students who got a score above some level. The letter may have said “NYU is impressed” but I guarantee you there is not a single person at NYU that has ever heard of you. Its just marketing.
