What do they look at when transferring after freshman year?

I am torn between UF and FSU and I was considering going to FSU and doing honors for the first year since I get $1200 each semester and because I want my first year to be comfortable. (I have a lot of friends going and I really like the FSU campus) And then I was thinking to transferring to UF after the first year after I have had some experience in college. I was wondering what they look at when you transfer in sophomore year? (do they look at my high school transcript, whether I got into UF when I applied in 12th grade, etc) And would the fact that I transferred affect my diploma or college transcript?

UF does not take transfer students with less than 60 credit hours…

"Junior/Senior-Level Transfers Without AA Degrees Must
Have completed 60 semester hours of transferable academic coursework
Have a minimum 2.0 GPA as calculated by UF on all work attempted at EACH institution attended
Have satisfied all prerequisite courses and minimum GPA requirements
Be in good standing and eligible to return to any institution previously attended

FAQ
Freshman/Sophomore Transfers (lower-division applicants with 13-59 transferrable credits)
Due to space limitations, UF is not currently accepting lower-division transfer students. Prospective transfer applicants are encouraged to remain at or to transfer to a Florida community college until the AA degree is completed."

hi I am a FTIC at USF St Pete and hope to transfer to UF in Fall 2014 but it looks like UF is still not accepting freshman/sophomore transfer applicants? do you know if this is true? I have heard that they will for Fall 2014? any info or advice is much appreciated thanks!!

You have the best chance of transferring if you complete an AA at a Florida state/community college. Not saying that people don’t get accepted when transferring from other universities, but the UF site says that preference is given to those with a completed AA from a Florida community college. But, yes you have to either have an AA or have completed 60 hours to transfer.

You need either an AA or 60 credits to transfer.
