Which is more popular penn or upenn?

Literally nobody on campus says UPenn. It’s Penn.

Yes, everyone calls it Penn on campus but since everyone seems to get it confused with Penn State, I say UPenn everywhere else.

Penn. Nobody says UPenn. I’m an alumna long out of school–I’ll sometimes use the full name to clarify.

^^“I say UPenn everywhere else” This is exactly what makes it sound like a state university: UMass, UConn, UVA, UMD, etc. People think it’s the state university of Pennsylvania and must be Penn State. Always say Penn!

^Lol well in my experience saying “Penn” make people instantly think of “Penn State.” I think I usually just say “University of Pennsylvania” to clear up any confusion.

Everyone always says Penn on campus, but I usually say UPenn outside of campus. Most people I talk to, I guess, would be familiar with UPenn vs. Penn State, but I can see why someone would just use the full name outside of campus.

No one on campus says UPenn. A hint is to look at all the big letter words - they say “PENN”.

I have had people say to me “ohhhh, U Penn”. They obviously have no familiarity with the school.

(wonder how many essays they trash that say “Upenn” over and over regardless of GPA and SAT scores)

I actually mention ‘UPenn’ in my essays. I should change that?

Yes, change it.
