The OP is a fraud.

thats a very concise way of putting it

Hey everyone- go look at the "Good Schools for Muah!" in the Search and Selection forum. It's pretty much about the same thing (by the same poster), but it's 17 pages long (oh, and don't post on it).

There's some funny stuff there, too.

bumppppppppp

Lets beat iwannagoivy's thread and make it to 36 pages!

hahaha there is another thread in college selections that already has 17 pages

"Why are you attacking me, Calidan? And for your information, Who's Who IS highly prestigious. My friend who was accepted to Princeton was NOT invited to be featured in it, nor was my friend who is currently attending Yale. The only other person from my school who was EVER featured in Who's Who now attends Harvard University. Please, make sure you know what you're talking about before trying to attack me.

BTW... You sound bitter and jealous because you probably can't get into an Ivy League school and will probably attend a STATE school. What are you stats? Care to share??"

LMAO. Stay tuned for more lol...

I think you sort of proved Calidan's point with the first two examples...Trust me man, it isn't what you think it is...

Each year, over 24,000 public, private and parochial high schools, youth groups and service organizations are invited to nominate students who have achieved a "B" grade point average or better and demonstrated leadership in academics, athletics or extracurricular activities. In fact, 67% of those students selected for publication maintain an "A" average.

That's from the web site. Does that make you sound like they're getting the cream of the cream of the crop? No.

come on let us greet iwannagoivy's wife. Of course there is the first criticism and the lame excuse part at first. But at the end u know we'll be worshipping u. ;)

btw Who's Who is like the worst recognition u can get nationally. Basically anyone can get it. As the above poster said

as nice a fake post as that was, theres nothing like iwannagoivy

:(

long live He Who Went Ivy!!

Your scores are great. . and I think you have a good chance at wherever you want to go. I would just narrow your focus (find a passion)..and DO NOT mention who's who among american high school students. I, along with tons of other people in my school got it. You look desperate. good luck

Cant we all just get along??

apparently not

Not who's who! That on top of your being hot make you an absolute shoo in at HYPMS. Congrats, you are the hottest!!

Just make sure you're near your phone the day those Who's Who things are published, cuz i guarantee you that Harvard and Yale will scramble to their phones and call you, recruiting.

I can't believe she is for real; however, if she is, I really hope that she writes her essay the same way that she posts on CC. She will get rejected from everywhere, which is probably the best thing to happen to her. She needs a major dose in diplomacy and humbleness. If my sons ever came home with a girl with this type of attitude, I would wonder about the common sense of my sons.

It's too bad that most people never understand that it isn't stats, grades, or pedigree that determines success in life: it is common sense and people skills. The original poster has alienated everyone on this board and in other forums. That is an accomplishment, and we don't even know her!

Ok.......now im gonna be a little bit nicer to this girl and ASSUME for the moment that she is in fact who she claims.........

hOtIvYlEaGuEwAnNaBecHiCk, you have a great chance! If you are who you claim to be, than you stand a solid chance at HPYMS. However, some of the earlier posts about your "focus" seem to have a point. I know that working on all those E.Cs must have taken up lots of time and effort, and you may feel cheated and discouraged that some ppl are ripping through your E.Cs. In my opinion, they are wonderful! You must be a truely focused individual do have achieved all those things. BUT, if you cannot present yourself on the application as a focused individual with few or couple specific focuses, it can act as a negative factor.........unless you can REALLY persuade the adcoms that you can do everything and has TREMENDOUS potential to handle multiple dozen things at once. Otherwise, I suggest you find a way to show focus on your application through essays and present yourself as a dynamic individual that you claim to be.

Again, assuming you are not a troll or a faker, you have a GREAT CHANCE! BUT, it is VITAL that you present yourself well on the applications, as a focused, dynamic, and full of potential. No matter how well you may have done in HS, you must present yourself as best as you can on your apps, otherwise all your efforts in HS may be for naught (did i spell that right....?)

Oh, and this is out of pure curiousity......what school do you go to? I live in east bay area of Cali and I am not aware of any private schools in cali that has 400+ students......

p.s: I honestly hope you are not a troll (a.k.a faker).......if you are not, that GREAT! best of luck to you in the college admissions.

If this is fake, this is so dumb. I don't know what else to say. Go to the corner and think about your life.

In case this is real--Your test scores and ranking is VERY good. I think you have a good shot at all the Ivys. Who's Who is not prestigious, I would leave it out. I think admissions officers would be very impressed by how well-rounded you are. Throughout high school I tried to balance sports and other extracurriculars but was never able to. I think it's impressive that your a distinctive athlete yet you you were also Editor of your newspaper and Class President. That's like almost impossible...but if it's true, I know it'll definately work to your advantage.

PS- Cornell is not a safety for anyone. Select a few REAL safeties.
