How did you get a 33+ on the reading?
Was it preparation? Was it strategy? Was it just easy in your opinion?
Also post your reading score.

Actually paid attention to the books I read in class, and when I didn’t understand something I didn’t just skip it. I sat there and made sure I understood what I was reading. I then summarized each chapter in my head to the best of my ability and compared to sparknotes just to make sure I could retain what I was reading.

I got a 34 simply by reading each passage straight through and absorbing as much information as I could. While I was reading, I underlined and underlined! It helped me stay focused as well as highlight certain pieces of information I felt were important to the passage. Then, I moved to the questions and was able to answer many of them without having to recall on the passage. And the one I did have to look back for were usually asking about information I could swiftly locate because of my underlining.
I’ve tried reading the questions first (28) and also tried skimming the passage (26), but I got my 34 by just reading everything straightforward. That’s what I found was my(obviously) best strategy. Hope this helps you!

I thought it was easy. I got a 34 and I didn’t do any real preparation and it was my first time taking it. I just didn’t want to take the SAT. Read the passage, answer the questions. If you use common sense you can answer about half the questions correctly without even reading the passage.

Honestly, it comes from years and years of reading. I’ve read a lot since I was a kid, I comprehend the stuff we go over in class, and I do all my assigned reading. After a while you just get good at reading comprehension.

Haven’t taken yet but I’m getting 34-36 on practice tests.

it is a well known fact that wearing bikini to the testing center can automatically get you above 33.

try that.

if you are too poor to buy a bikini, then your only way is suck up and keep practicing

Speed. You don’t have to deeply understand the passages. You need to know how to recall information and find it in the passage without trying to analyze it like a Shakespeare play.

I got a 36. For me, I went in the order 4321 for the passages and I also found a lot of interest in the passages (even if I really didn’t like the passage). Finding your own order helps.
