I'm bored of it. Even with shuffle and stuff. Also, there are some music tracks I don't want to listen for too long because I want them to be mentally associated with a part of my life.

So what do you do? Do you borrow a friend's external HD and transfer his/her huge music collection to your drive?

That’s one option. Or you can find some new music to download yourself. I’m doing that now. It’s not that I’m bored of my music, I just need more variety. -_-
You just need to search a little…

How about you download a bunch of music you wouldn’t normally listen to? But first and foremost, especially in your situation, delete every last song on your HD.

Well, I usually look for a musician’s friends or family members that are also artists. For example, through Team Starkid, I discovered My Dear Disco and Darren Criss, and through Darren Criss I fell in love with Freelance Whales and Charlene Kaye. Not that I’ve ever been bored by Team Starkid’s music, but you know what I mean. Broaden your horizon…

I don’t listen to my ipod ever. In fact, I left it at school during my current month long break. I really only listen to music when at the computer or in the car.

I search the internet and add any song I like to playlist.com. I get a lot of the songs I find from Pandora, or lists of songs from a particular genre or time period.

I usually get my music from /mu/ sharethreads…yes…I know…4chan…but /mu/ has some really interesting music, for example, I wouldn’t have discovered fun., The Daysleepers, Agalloch, and Crippled Black Phoenix without it. Not only that, but I would’ve remained completely ignorant about entire genres, like post-rock and dream pop and freak folk. If you’re willing enough to take a bit of a leap, I’d recommend going on /mu/. Ignore all other threads (because 4chan) and focus on sharethreads.

Pandora and last.fm recommendations are great as well for finding music that you’ll like, so yeah.

Usually I check similar artists on last.fm or I will go to the record label website and find someone to download. Sometimes I find similar bands on the band wikipedia. If you don’t believe in downloading illegally, then go to quoteunquoterecords.com and download anything Bomb the Music Industry!. You’ll become hooked.
