what do you find more annoying: religious proselytizers or vegetarian proselytizers?

Really? I had no idea. I was under the impression that there is God, who manifests himself in innumerable ways, each way representing a different aspect of God. Then again, some Hindus prefer to worship one or other of these aspects. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned? :p

I find people that complain about these people more annoying than both of the other groups combined.

“Animals are real. God isn’t. Don’t bother me with stories about your imaginary friend.”

lol <3

I completely agree with Millancad. It’s equally annoying/offensive to hear atheists shove what they have to say down your throat. I don’t understand why people feel the need to go out of their way to attack religion, vegetarianism, etc. Don’t they realize that what they’re doing is completely hypocritical and unnecessary?

-____-

Vegetarian religious proselytizers.

^^It’s only hypocritical if your religion preaches tolerance; there are religions devoted to shoving themselves down people’s throats. Vegetarians…I’ve never met a proselytizing veg, but I have met plenty of proselytizing carnivores. Maybe that’s just where I live, though.

^I’ve also never met a vegetarian religious proselytizer. Maybe that’s just where I live, though.

seconded. It seems (some) atheists are just irritatingly vocal and forceful with their ideas as the religious people they criticize for doing the above.
I never understood how people don’t realize the extent of their hypocrisy.

that’s not to imply or suggest I don’t have my own ignorant brushes with hypocrisy. I do. A lot.

QFT. Seriously, people, let’s not turn this into a a/theist bashing thread or a (non)-vegetarian one.
I agree with myself. This tends to be a good idea

Am I the only one who sees more people b**ching about these groups than I actually see people who complain about these groups?

As a vegetarian, I do not preach, nor have I ever. But about half the people that I tell I am a vegetarian to automatically jump on me like I’m going to shove it down their throats. It’s like… are you f—ing kidding me? Plus, religious proselytizers are pretty easy to avoid so if you want to stay there and argue with them then that’s you’re problem.

Ok all done  lol.

“Animals are real. God isn’t. Don’t bother me with stories about your imaginary friend.”

How is this tolerance?

It is very hypocritical, regardless of what the religion preaches.

None of the vegetarians i know try to convert me, although I have met quite a few hard-core christians who have tried to save my soul from eternal damnation.

^It isn’t tolerance…it’s one of the viewpoints that exists to shove itself down somebody else’s throat. Actually, also probably a self-defence mechanism–trying not to have stuff shoved down their throat. sigh Lemme get out of here now, before it turns nasty. Bye!

^^Lol, the first time I met one of those I thought she was a lunatic. I was in the third grade  didn’t understand a word she was saying.

Even though I’m atheist, I say

Vegetarian…

I WANT TO EAT MY MEAT. GO AWAY.

religious ones, because i have my own religion. I can at least see why there are veg ones (also, the meat industry IS inhumane and meat is really inefficient).

I am a vegetarian and I recognize how annoying the condescending hipster vegetarians are. However, I think religious proselytizers are more annoying because they are dealing with something intangible and unprovable, whereas it has been scientifically proven that by reducing meat consumption we can: inhibit global warming, feed more people, reduce obesity, etc. I’m not saying everyone should be forced to go vegetarian, but it is annoying how us vegetarians often get harassed for choosing not to eat meat rather than thanked! (tongue in cheek…kinda…=P)

Proselytizers of any kind don’t bother me as long as they a: respect the fact that I might concievably have a reason for believing what I do, and b: are willing to defend their view and test it against mine. I’m always eager to test my worldview against others, as it helps me to refine it and make sure it is based in truth. But it’s useless to argue with someone who won’t actually debate.

I’m a vegetarian and an agnostic, but I feel like religious proselytizers are much more annoying. I’ve personally been attacked for “worshiping Satan” among other disconcerting things, and have had people follow me around asking me questions about why I’m not Christian, so they could find a reason to convert me.

I don’t force my choices on other people. In fact, I’ve only been vegetarian for about 3 months [but non-religious for the better part of my life]. I’m the only one amongst my friends that doesn’t practice a religion, but they’re not jumping me nor am I trying to convince them.

can’t stand vegetarian proselytizers. I hate them and their phony ecowarrior
global warming stance
I eat meat every day. Delish.

vegetarian proselytizers are more annoying IMO…ok you’re not slaughtering animals but you’re slaughtering plants!!!
