Bible Huggers

Do they annoy you?
Are they not that bad?
Do you agree with them?
Why is Notre Dame so mad at Obama?!

Ew. Bible thumpers.

Sorry to burst your bubble, iEatReeds, but I’m an Evangelical myself.

See you at NJGSIS hopefully! hahahaha

Oh noez!!1!

They can be annoying.
But they’re not that bad.
I don’t agree with them.
Yes.

ugh, they can definitely be annoying.

They’re less annoying than bible thumper bashers.

Anyone with extreme beliefs is annoying.

The fence is where it’s at.

In 7th grade, I used to bring a Bible to class everyday.

Now I’m a hardcore atheist.

Don’t confuse bible thumper and tree hugger. That’s about as different as you can get.

In what way are bible thumpers annoying? I’d really like to know. I’m a non-practicing Catholic raised in NY and now live in the south where the majority of people go to church on Wednesday and twice on Sunday, but have never been annoyed by them as a group. I have been annoyed by individual Christians, as well as by individual Jews, Atheists, Mormons, etc for their individual acts or personality, not their religion or lack thereof. I just don’t understand the hatred I see from some people for a whole group of people based on their Religious beliefs.

^ Not based on their religious beliefs, but the way they portray them.

No one here will hate someone for being a Christian.

Many people here will patronize someone for telling us we will all burn in hell for not believing in God, despite the fact that we may or may not practice the moral teachings of Jesus and other leaders of peace better than they do.

Most Christians don’t practice the teachings of Jesus. They just like telling other people they’re going to burn and rot in hell.

if ya don’t bug me about your religion i don’t really care

Really, people just tell you you’re going to burn in hell. I have never had anyone say that to me. They may think that, but never said it to me. And if you don’t believe it, why would it bother you? I think I would laugh if someone actually told me I was going to burn in Hell for all eternity, and I believe in Heaven and Hell.
As for the hypocrisy, aren’t we all hypocrites about some things at times.

I just get really annoyed with people that wear " I love jesus" t-shirts. Besides that, I don’t really have anything against them.

Yankee Belle: This animosity isn’t directed at all religious peoples. It is directed at a specific group: the bible thumpers. Bible thumpers aggressively push their religion on others.

Ya the only reason I started the topic is because I have a really religious friend who told me I was “the scum of the earth” and that I was going to hell for various non Bible-approved activities… and a few people I work with are the same way and it’s actually disgusting because it’s like the opposite of what you think a Christian should be like.

Exactly. As Voltaire said, “If Christians want people to believe in a Redeemer, let them act redeemed.” Your friend doesn’t realize he’s as much of a sinner as anyone else. Only by God’s grace is he saved. But he is still depraved.

We’re all the scum of the earth.

whats wrong with loving fiction books?
