What do you guys think of Rice University?

<p>Rice is my dream school! Do you guys think it is really difficult to get into? Rice is probably one of the most overlooked Ivies probably because of its location... If you have ever visited, is it pretty and is it safe? My dad had a friend there whose friend apparently got shot... Thank you !</p>

<p>Rice is not an overlooked Ivy League school – it is not an Ivy League school. But it is one of the top universities in the country and is very difficult to get into.

<p>It’s extremely pretty, and when we visited, all the students were happy and on their way to research jobs with professors.</p>

<p>LOL. Ivy’s are only in the Northeast. Perhaps you are confusing Rice with Brown ?</p>

<p>It’s not technically an Ivy League, but it has been dubbed “the ivy of the south.” Very hard to get in to, but not so much if you are a minority.</p>

<p>I am looking to study some sort of physics: particularly astrophysics. Rice seems to offer a great program for it.</p>
