What do you guys think?

My dad is urging me to take two extra SAT II tests to redeem for my first SAT I score. I am currently studying for the October SAT I, but I don't know if I will be able to handle the load of studying two subject tests along with a full AP schedule and 15+ hours a week for marching band.

Currently I have:
SAT: 1880 (690M,640W,560CR)
M IIC: 790
Bio E: 770
Phys: 750

I am confident that I can score above 2000 in October, but would taking two extra subject tests help? The two subjects in mind are US History and Chemistry. (both will be self studied)

SAT subject tests can't replace SATI; they are two separate things and colleges look at them separately
if you think you can handle it, i'd just take Oct. i mean your subject test scores are amazing so you might take US history to have an english/history type test to round it off, but i wouldn't take the SATII and just focus on the SATI :]
good luck and thank you for replying to my thread

The two SATII's would make no difference. You need a better SAT I score.

Only really hard schools GENERALLY (before i get flamed) want SAT II's. On top of that AP's don't really matter besides placement and the fact that you took the course. The 1880 --> 2000 jump i think is very possible for you. Your math 2 score proved that. and I got a 590 CR, and i got mine up to a 650. If I can, anybody can. You'll have above the 2000 no prob.

You have 3 SAT 2's, all with gorgeous scores. You don't need anymore. Right? Like the other posters SAT I trumps the SAT II's by a large amount. And you're right the AP's add a huge amount of stress. Your top priority should be the SAT I improvement.

Not to mention you're gonna self study CHEM and History. History you'll get a decent grade, but chem i'm always skeptical about. If you're going to take an SAT II I suggest History/Lit/something other than a science because you have math and two sciences already. That's IF you're gonna take an SAT 2 at all.

I do marching band too! Ha. Indeed 15+ hours a week...I never even thought about it.
