What do you think? (chance thing)

I don't really care much to what someone I dont know would think, but I'm kind of curious.

I project my GPA to be 3.8 at the end of high school.

Work Experience:
Soon

Community Service:
Will have 150

Interested Colleges:
Duke most of all. Ivy league, and colleges around the top 50 range. I would consider NYU a safety school.

how small is your school when you have a 3.6 and are in the top 20? you need a denominator
20/1000 is great, 20/25 sucks

btw a lot of it is still unwritten- like that song

you can’t project your gpa or your sat-
you can’t assume leadership unless you have <100 kids in your class
assume leadership positions when somebody says you will have a leadership position next year
don’t say ‘150 hour requirment’ on your application, it looks bad

it’s all about your sat score and your gpa right now

don’t plan to retake a test when you don’t know the score the first time
if it’s 2200+, it’s sort of risky retaking it

your race does help
it’s too early to know you wan’t to be a lawyer

‘projected’ ec’s are solid, but you don’t really know what they will be
you won’t be editor in chief of anything if you’re the only person who doesn’t fluently speak french, or if your in a different country than the club is

saying you will work soon is dumb

overall, you can’t just decide to sit down one night and map out your route
there will be tons of obstacles, and you will be juggling job/school/ec’s/sports- especially sports
imagine coming home all sore and then working for four hours

i don’t know what your school is like, but i have a friend, who’s an editor for local newspaper and plays on the tennis team

he get’s home at seven to eight every night
he’s not in a lot of ap classes and stuff like that, so he get’s to bed at around 11

if you do what your thinking about doing, expect no more than 5 hours of sleep a night

final advice

to get into duke
great sat
solid gpa
solid ec’s
do something creative

or get really really good at basketball or tennis

Hard to say without scores but don’t cosider NYU a safety if you need much financial aid. Most who get in do not have their financial need met.

pinkslip, of course much of my plans are not concrete.
I’m still a sophomore, theres lots of things that could happen/not happen.
I’m just pointing out PLANS that I think are feasible.

I don’t think its too early to know what I want to do in life, I have my reasons and its not something I havent thought over.

My class has 235 students.
