I am currently a junior at one of the top schools in my state.

GPA: 4.0 uw definately in the top 5% of the class, I don't know my exact rank yet

I'm currently taking AP Chem...my school doesn't offer a ton of AP classes before senior year. But I plan on taking 3-4 AP classes next year. I kind of got screwed in terms of AP credit in foreign languages because I decided to take Chinese, but o well I'm still happy I took it :). My other classes are all honors classes.
I haven't taken the SAT since 8th grade, so I don't have representing scores yet.

Ethnicity: White/Chinese
My cousin also went to Harvard, but that's kind of a distant relationship to do any good.

Extracurriculars:
JV swimming freshman year/Varsity swim team 10 & 11 grade-2 varsity letters
Summer league swim team for the last 9 years
Spring and fall recreational soccer 9th and 10th grades
Piano (performed with my band and in weddings)-for like 10 years
Basketball-last 6 years
Weekly volunteer in elementry school for the last two years
(I've volunteered other places also but not on a regular basis) I probably have at least 100 hrs of community service
Band-freshman year
NHS-10th,11th grade

This summer I'm hoping to get an big intership, but I won't know if I get it for awhile.

Awards:
Paul Robsen Scholar-Athlete award 2001-2005
Nominated for the National Youth Leadership Forum

Yeah, I agree with the whole hook thing. The main thing I do better than anyone else is acedemically, and that won't be much of a hook compared to my competition. I would consider myself a pretty good piano player, except it's not like I go around and do it competitively. The internship I'm hoping to get this summer however, is supposed to be competitive and 400 hrs at a leading cancer research center. Hopefully that will be appealing.

Oh yeah, and the NYLF I know it's not an award, but I guess it's a bit of an honor. I dunno.

If you actually went to NYLF, you could put it in Summer Programs, but i wouldn't suggest putting it in awards because it'll just look like space filling to them.
