What do you think of a religion based club?

This thread is amusing.

OP says he doesn’t think religious clubs should be allowed. By saying this, he uses his American right to say that another’s American right shouldn’t exist.

Oh the irony.

You should live in South Carolina. Prayer is said in school here and religious songs are sang at public school Christmas concerts. Oh my! There are even some schools that allow you to receive elective credit for taking a religion course at a church. A club is hardly a big deal. (FCA is big around here and there are always church youth pastors at the schools.)

I, of course, went to a private school, which isn’t Christian at all. (We’ve got Atheists, Buddhists, Muslims, Jewish, Agnostics, Christian, you get the picture) Yet we say the Lord’s Prayer every day. The people who aren’t Christian simply stand there politely and then it’s over like a minute later and everyone is hunky dory. And, everyone receives a Bible at graduation.

So to me, you being inconvenienced by a club merely existing doesn’t really sound that bad to me.

Aug- that would be unbearable to me.
Dolorous- I can have a rational argument all day long. I enjoy the fact you disagree with me. It gets rid of the mediocrity of compliance. And when you said ideology being shoved down someones throats, well that was pure irony. If your “intelligent senior brain” doesn’t understand what a mere freshman means by that, please ask so I could clarify. You may not know since I was being vague.

If you dont like it then dont join. Its not like they’ll be handing out free ice cream in the cafeteria everyday with a “Christians Only” sign above it, while singing “Our God is An Awesome God” like there’s no tomorrow.

Its pretty clear that you are bitter towards Christians for some reason. Whether you like it or not, we’re everywhere, all the time. And no matter how legit your reason for not liking us is in your mind, at the end of the day you’re gonna have to get over it if you want any chance of living a life that doesn’t involve heart attacks at 45.

Or you can be that guy who makes smart-ass remarks in World History when the class drifts off into a conversation about Christmas, and you can pretend that your childish antics actually hurt our feelings.Or maybe (hopefully) you’ll grow out of it, but that’s unlikely. Its your choice bro

Side Note: Catholic school seems like torture. All ritual and no soul IMO.

Lawl, Dan, what are you trying to say? DolorousEdd can’t disagree with you because he is older than you?

DolorousEdd Einstein was not religious (in the traditional sense).

I believe in Spinoza’s God, Who reveals Himself in the lawful harmony of the world, not in a God Who concerns Himself with the fate and the doings of mankind. - Einstein

He was a pantheist which is sexed up atheism.
