Like about their academic accomplishments... I don't care if you got a 2200 on your SAT or straight A's last semester. I get above average grades but I never felt the need to let everyone know... it kinda annoys me

I don’t care. All of my friends and I use the status thing a bit to liberally. It get’s funny after awhile. Although, as I’m adding family from out of state, I’m probably going to need to stop with that soon.

I don’t like it. I also don’t like it when people use it for really personal information.

I hate people that gloat like that. I rarely use a status at all. I’m pretty successful, but never have I posted anything just to gloat. At most it would be “sweet deal” or somehting like that

Then again, I don’t have many friends who actually gloat. We all just post random things.

I don’t really like when people brag about SAT scores and stuff on there, but I’m fine with personal information as long as you realize that people will know. Actually, bragging about drinking/partying is not very cool.

How do you define bragging? I mean, a lot of times, I just see it as celebration. If someone just got accepted into their dream school, can you really fault them for telling people?

I’m fine with college acceptances.

90% of my status updates are random song lyrics lol

yeah acceptances are definitely OK. thats a big deal.

I fault people who are like “Yes! Just got a 97 on that test!” or something like that. It just stands to make the masses feel bad.

Nothing wrong with a little vanity

I’ve only used status once.

I don’t mind it.

What I don’t like seeing is “blazinnnnnnnnnnnnn” and then “10 people like this.” There needs to be a disapprove option. They think that’s so cool…

I’ve never used status.
I know what you mean, zap. Yeah, people bragging via status annoys me, but by that I mean when someone feel the need to publish something personal that sounds catchy/ arrogant just for the sake of getting attention and impressing everyone else. Otherwise I’m fine with celebrations.

People brag in their facebook statuses?

if/when i get in where I want, I’ll brag via facebook status. i’ll also do it if/when I get a 2400 next october. fight me.

College acceptances are fine; I’ll probably do the same. SAT scores are fine if you do well. Every test grade is not okay, especially if you always score high.

I also don’t like people who are all melodramatic and talk about their personal lives via facebook status. I’m also not a big fan of the one word “asleep” or “chillin.” I also don’t like song lyrics.

But overall I like to laugh at other’s statuses. I personally don’t update mine but very rarely.

it annoys me when people post specific information like, “I got a 2300!”…I would say “is happy” or “is happy about SATs”. That said, I did somewhat brag when I got into ivies…I was totally shocked and wanted to tell all my friends at once. Also, I only have like 45 friends on facebook-so it really isn’t like I’m sending a message to 700 people

I only do it for things that are really important to me. I bragged when I got into the summer program I’m going to but not when I got my SATs back. And I would never even think of bragging about stuff from school. I’ve never seen anyone do that either.

People who post overly dramatic statuses bother me more than bragging ones. Like the girl who is constantly complaining about her love life - ANNOYING!!

I only use my status to complain about my life lol which isn’t any better than bragging but yeah I get pretty annoyed too. It’s bad enough when they’re doing it to my face nevermind facebook.

I can’t believe so many people get annoyed over it. I don’t care, why would I let something that somebody else posted bother me?

I don’t use statuses at all, though.
