<p>Would it be a bad idea to submit a letter to your future roommate for the "Topic of your choice" prompt? I wrote a really strong essay using this prompt for a non-common app college, and was just wondering if it seemed too obviously recycled.</p>
<p>The second you read it a few colleges came to mind.
It will seem recycled. I suggest you type a new essay.</p>
<p>But colleges must be aware of the fact that the phrase “Topic of your choice” will be interpreted in a variety of ways, no? If they truly didn’t mean ANY reasonable topic, they would not have that option.</p>
<p>I think if you’ve written a really strong essay why not use it again?</p>
<p>I also thought of a a college immediately that requires this topic (Stanford) so it may seem recycled. However, if it’s a good, insightful essay into your life, you can be the judge.</p>
