Thank you, let me try again.
Most kids won’t do AP calc. My kid did AB - not BC - and got into great colleges - actually both did.
And that was taking it Senior year.
If you’re taking it Sophomore year and continuing math, you might be on the MIT train Just kidding - let her be a kid but certainly take what’s needed.
I imagine if they’re at this level - you don’t need to worry about what they’re taking. They already know - and they will manage their academics on their own, I’m sure in accordance with their counselor or the UC requirements which they likely know already.
Her school is in the top 25 percentile based on SAT/ACT tests, AP scores etc etc in California. Students take AP chem in their freshman year…yes !
Slowly we will increase the number of APs or not…but for this sophomore year since she trusts me completely as a parent to do the right things for her, I have to be more responsible.
Thanks again!
You are right UCs are harder to get into than ivy league. I know several of my friends children who took the right APs, got 4s and 5s all stem related but were still rejected. A 4.3 is not enough anymore.
Depends on the schools and programs you are comparing. That’s far from a true statement but it certainly could be in cases.
