What do you think the chances are

That they messed up my science section.

I got my scores back, and i got a 24 in science... I was getting 33s in practice tests and I felt really confident with every answer I put. Do you think it's worth paying the 30 dollars for them to hand grade it? It would make a really big difference in my score if they DID mess up. Any opinions or if anyone has had any experience with this, let me know. Thanks

ya my reading score was really low also (23) and the rest of my scores were 31, composite 29…I felt the reading was very hard but I didn’t expect a 23, I’m debating it also

Yeah, go for a re-score, unless you’re the type of person that always thinks they did well, but always gets a low score.

Uh, science was easier this time so I’m guessing the curve was pretty nasty. If you somehow do recall having to erase a lot of crap, etc, then it might be a culprit. A lot of erasing = good suggestion to rescore. Possibly skipping a line etc. If you really feel confident and your other scores reflect it, go for a recheck.

Sometimes you do worse then you think. Like 2 years ago, I took this really easy science part… Like easiest one ever and got a 23. So yeah, it happens.

I mean I definitly didn’t think I was going to match my practice test scores (30-33) cause it was tough but I was thinking 26 at the least

How often does it really happen though, I mean those machines are pretty damn good…I almost feel like it isnt worth it, I need atleast a move to a 25 to increase my score to a 30 and thats around 4-5 questions…the chances seem slim

yeah see that’s what i’m worried about. I feel like I did erase a lot, but I don’t know.

Im pretty good about my predictions i.e. if I think I did good, I normally do good.

And for Reading, I got a 31. The curve did seem harsh.

umm i’m thinking a rescore of my english and math… was getting in 33ish area on all the Real ACT pratice tests and i got a 29 and 28:(

about the science section, i guessed on like 8 and got a 28. perhaps I should have guessed on the other sections? Cause I can recieve the same score by not acually trying…

If you feel that strongly about it, then I say get it re-scored. Although chances are slim that they actually messed up, but it could happen. You will always wonder about this if you don’t make sure it’s the right score… I say go for it!

one qustion, everyone is saying something about re-scoring???

how do you rescore??? tell me in detail

I have a feeling reading messed with alot of people just based off what I’ve read on other threads, I think that I am going to not rescore it and just retake it, I really doubt they messed up…thinking back to it I guessed on a **** ton and was really time pressed which probably led to bad decisions, even though its about 8 points below my practice tests I can understand it

^Dude, I was totally out of it when I did the reading, but first passage was the hardest one i’ve ever seen.

I had to finish the whole last passage (8 questions + passage) in 5 mins.

I’ve come to a conclusion from a lot of advice to read passage 1 last.

About rescoring: I’ve only heard of one success from rescoring because someone accidentally missed a answer and put everything down a row. It’s unlikely that your grade is wrong. If your score came out like a 15-16 when you get 30s+, it’s pretty obvious that it was an error, otherwise, it’s probably not.

ya the one about arnold was insane, I had abolsutely no idea what I had just read and that threw off everything else, the others weren’t a breeze either, i’m sure on a retake I can get a 30 and get a 31 composite…oct 24 isnt to late for most apps right?

you got nothing to lose! Do re-score. I think that happened to me too, so I am gonna rescore mine.
