What Do You Think???

Hi!

In September I'll be a junior and I'm really interested in GWU. I'm thinking about applying ED1 to be a Criminal Justice Major. I would like to know what anyone thinks of my chances.

(final grades have already come, but final GPA/Rank hasn't)

UW GPA ---> 3.99/4.67 (calculated myself)
W GPA ---> 4.55/5.83 (unsure)
Rank ---> at least top 40%

I haven't taken my ACTs or SATs yet.

Freshman Year:
all regular course levels with all A's

Sophmore Year:
moved up to accelerated level courses (weighted higher than regular, but not yet honors - prepares you for AP/Honor level courses later) with A's and a couple B's

Junior Year:
registered for all accelerated and a few honors

Senior Year:
might try all honors

ECs:
I have several leadership positions as President or VP of clubs and programs at school, I've been a lawyer 2 years in a row in Mock Trial (might be for all 4 yrs), I'm a member of student council and a member of the community service committee. I am a part of many other good EC's too including many projects with the government and my church. I plan to join more over the next 2 years. I am doing or I will eventually do an internship with a law firm (currently), at the DA office, and with a psychiatrist.

Awards:
I have won two awards in English for writing. I have won 3 Spanish awards. I have won 1 Business award. I have 2 school spirit awards so far (for community service, academics, spirit, and participation). I have also made the Deans List everytime. More to come.

I'm sure my counselor and my favorite teacher (had her or will have her for world history, law, sociology, politics, and foreign policy studies) will write great recs.

I've visited DC 5 times and the GWU campus once. I plan to revisit the campus next year and my senior year. I want to have an interview too. Also I'm thinking about doing GWU's Summer Scholars program next summer in Criminal Justice.

I know this is long, but What do you think of my chances?

Thanks!! :)

Might be worth taking APs. Let me know how your test scores go.

Thanks for the reply. I take my PSATs in October and my ACTs/SATs later next year, so I'll let you know about the scores.

I spoke with my counselor a couple days ago about next year's schedule and she wants to add AP US Gov't/Politics and move me up to AP US History. So I'll be taking 2 APs next year and if they go well, more in my senior year.

Thanks again!! :)
