I'm starting to get asked that and I can't really think of what I need...

Other than money, what essentials did you find important for freshmen year?

So far I came up with a shower bag....lol

isn’t there a consolidated list. look through that and see what you don’t have yet. i want a bike. of course, i come from a family that thinks that doesn’t want to admit i’m graduating and so i’m not expecting much.

Money can’t hurt. If there’s something you need, you can buy it, and if not, you can use it to enjoy time out with friends, or anything else you may have interest in doing.

I would like to recive some money to help pay for college expenses.

(from a parent): I would think that gift cards would be a great idea. Right now you don’t know exactly what you’ll need, and cards will give you some flexibility.

You could ask for Target/Ikea/Bed Bath & Beyond – those will help you furnish your room. Or Office Depot/Office Max/Staples – those will help you get set up with paper, notebooks, a stapler, ink cartridges, etc.

Before you specify a particular store, though, make sure that store is located in the area of your college.

Lasma, Don’t forget to mention barns and noble giftcards or one to borders.

Laptop
GPS
Slingbox
Barn & Nobles gift cards (that’s my college’s book store)
I also asked for a book or two

A Macbook Pro!!!

hella gift cards/cash, if you don’t already have a computer.

I graduated last week and havent gotten crap. And none of my extended family are in town or are that close to me so im not getting a single thing from them.

i’ll probably be going for the gift cards…

Does Barnes and Noble sell college textbooks?

um…I’m not sure if regular B&N sell college books, but I was told that my college book store in the cafteria is a B&N.

yea i was told that my bookstore at my university is actually a b&N in disguise …(no B&N logos)

i bought a classic 30gb iPod as my graduation gift to myself when i graduated two years ago :)

yea they do sell them on their webpage.

I’m just asking for cash. :]
My mom got me my present already though - 30 gig iPod touch.

Money can NEVER hurt and you can use it just the same as you could gift cards except you aren’t limited to only places you get cards to.

Most people give gift cards or cash as high school graduation presents anyways.
