i've been curious about the full process to becoming brigade commander( I want to be it) so can anyone give me an idea on how that works

Well I think it goes without saying that it’s not easy…

Honestly, I’m not sure so I’ll be interested in what others have to say about it, but I do know you basically have to be the best of the best. Here’s an article about one from 2012: [New Brigade Commander Steps Up](http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=64715)

There are a LOT of opportunities for leadership positions of various types once you get your appointment and actually start to attend USNA. I would first focus on getting your appointment, finishing off h.s. with as good of an academic background as possible and also getting yourself into top notch physical shape since these are also physically demanding programs.

As with most leadership positions, there are many paths that can take you there. I am not sure there is a value in being overly focused on one leadership position before you even start the program.

true im working very very very hard to get in…im just wanting to know that whenever the time comes to get into academy that i can begin the step up. i thought it was a GPA based thing
