What does it take....

...for a community college transfer to get into Stanford?

A nobel prize, and the cure for AIDs

trixee15, that's not nice or funny
rejected89- i went to cc before attending a 4 yr school and i got into cornell. i really don't
think colleges look down upon cc as much as people think they do. colleges are aware that many students attend cc for financial reasons. as long as you have all the usual things (good gpa, good rec's, ect.) you should have just as good of a chance as anyone to get in.

It takes the same thing as it takes coming from a 4-year college or university. Very good grades in a strong curriculum that is right for your intended major (if you know it). Strong recs. Strong test scores if you are submitting. Good essays which show you really know what Stanford offers wrt your interests and that you will be an asset to the community.

I am a Stanford alum and always recall the article in the monthly magazine featuring the outstanding cc students they admitted one year and how they appreciate the particular perspective cc students bring to the campus.

Go for it. But go for more likely alternatives as well. Stanford is a very very very low likelihood for anyone. Except maybe whoever cured AIDS.

It's easy really. Tell the parentals to donate enough for them to build a new wing.

Smooth sailing after that.

and I think Trixee's comment was nice and funny.

I agree, I thought it was entertaining.

i'm sure she/he meant it to be entertaining, and i am not outraged, i just thought it sounded a little condescending
