What does MIT do with our financial aid stuff!?

MyMIT says they don't have ANY of my financial aid documents. I'm literally freaking out. Is this happening to anyone else? I sent MIT an email about it. They told me "we'll check and see if we have your forms" (paraphrased), and that was the end of that..

What should I do?

First, do not freak out.

The financial aid office processes all of the documents, and it’s entirely possible that they have your whole application, it just didn’t get checked off in the system. As they told you, they’ll check to see if they have the forms. If they don’t have the forms, you can send them again – it won’t affect your aid package in any way, except that they might not be able to get it to you at the same time they give you a decision.

Keep in touch with them to see if they’ll need you to send the forms again.

Do they process all applicants or only those they are considering for admission?

The financial aid office makes up financial aid packages for all students who apply for and qualify for aid. They have no contact with the admissions office about whether students are admitted or not during the package-making process.
