What does my admission status mean?

"An admission decision is being deferred pending receipt of an updated official college transcript showing grades from your most recent semester completed. Transcripts should be sent to UCF Undergraduate Admissions, P.O. Box 160111, Orlando, FL 32816-0111."

Does this mean that I'll most likely be accepted once my updated transcript is received?

well what are your stats? To me this could either mean that A) they are deffering you until they get your updated transcripts to hope you got better grades or else you wont get it or B) its just fancy wording to say “we cant begin to process you until we have all your stuff.” I only checked my acceptance status one time about a month after I applied because I completely forgot about so I only got to see it say I was accepted.

Does this mean that I’ll most likely be accepted once my updated transcript is received?

It means that they are waiting for an official transcript to arrive. If you are finishing your a Degree, they are waiting for it post so they could make a decision. I’m assuming that you are a transfer student. I’m not saying you are or aren’t accepted because I don’t know your credentials, but as soon as they get your transcripts, they will look it over and make a decision. Best Wishes and Good Luck

I’m a transfer student from Broward College. I barely got out of HS with a 2.0, and didn’t even take the SAT. This is my last semester, and my GPA is around 3.2. It was a 3.5 when I applied back in March, so that may not look too good.

Today I sent an updated transcript showing my summer grades and my lower GPA. Will that help them to decide? or will they wait for my final transcript in December?

Impackt,

Are you transferring with an A.A. Degree from Broward CC?

Yes, this is my last semester at BC. I’ll have my AA in December…

“Yes, this is my last semester at BC. I’ll have my AA in December…”

Congratulations on getting your A.A. Degree. Based on that, UCF will more than likely make a decision when the A.A. Degree posts in December. I think your GPA is excellent and will help your chances of getting in. Here’s what I found from the UCF website which could help see if you qualify or not. What semester did you apply for at UCF? I’m going to guess Summer or Fall of 2010.

Applicants with more than 60 semester hours of college work or who have earned an Associate in Arts degree from a Florida public community college or university must:

* Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended

 • Have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
 • Have taken two college-level English Composition courses
 • Have taken two college-level Mathematics courses
 • Satisfy the foreign language requirement, which consists of two years of a single foreign language in high school, or eight semester hours of college instruction in a single foreign language. A high school transcript may be required to verify this requirement.

I applied for the Spring 2010 semester. I don’t want any time off in between transferring. I’ve also applied to FIU, I’m pretty much accepted - they just need my final transcript.

As far as the list goes, I’ve meet every requirement except for the foreign language. That will be done this semester.

Awesome. I also applied for Spring 2010. I’m majoring in Business Management. How about yourself? I was kinda nervous since you said Spring 2010 as the deadline to apply is November 1, 2009. But, I guess if you apply now and have your transcripts in place after then, you should be fine. I hope everything goes well.

My major is Computer Science. i applied in march, but UCF took forever to update my status. I’m hoping everything goes well though…

ACCEPTED! A flier came in the mail today letting me know that I’m accepted!

This is my new status:

Congratulations! You have been offered admission to UCF for the Spring 2010 term. Your acceptance is contingent upon earning an Associate of Arts degree from a Florida public community college or earning 60 transferable semester hours of credit with at least a 2.5 gpa from the last institution attended, as well as overall, two college level courses in both math and english with a grade of ‘C’ or better in each and successful completion of two consecutive years of the same foreign language in high school or eight semester hours of the same foreign language in college.
You may now register for orientation at [UCF First Year Experience - (407) 823-5105](http://www.orientation.ucf.edu)
We look forward to you joining us at UCF!

Congrats!!! I get so excited seeing people getting acceptance letters!

Congratulations!!! Time to Celebrate :). Question: When did you apply for UCF? A few months ago? Weeks? I applied on September 14th. I guess I should give it some more time as UCF said between 2-6 weeks.

Thanks!

I applied in March. UCF took so long because they had to do admissions for this current semester, before getting around to the 2010 applications. With this being the very next semester, I’m guessing that they will probably stay within the promised 6 weeks. Good luck!

Are you also transferring from a CC?

Yeah, I’m transferring from PHCC (Pasco-Hernando Community College) with an AA Degree as well. However, I got my AA Degree in April of 2008; so I postponed my Bachelor’s Degree by a year so I could get some money through Work and whatnot.

Oh, that’s cool. It’s good that you’re starting back! Good luck with everything!
