We only have honors history classes at my school, nothing else is honors. We don’t have any AP physics either, so there is no advanced option for that. I am amazed at how many AP classes some people are taking! I attend a pretty large school (~2500) but trying to get even four AP classes fit in with other required classes is quite difficult because of scheduling!

-hville7, i don’t understand, maybe i’m being a bit ignorant but my school has 3500 kids and yet i’m able to take 8 AP classes (granted there are no requirements junior year). we do have phy ed, health, and a required ‘economics’ class, but that doesn’t really hinder anyone from taking 5+ AP classes.

my school only has like 7 periods for classes (if you sacrifice your gym) and we have required classes, so I understand completely. the most AP’s someone could take is like 5

I dont know about second semester, but this is PROBABLY what my schedule is going to look like.

It’s okay, I wasn’t being very clear!
At my school we run on a trimester schedule, with only five classes per trimester (so a total of 15 credits per school year). AP classes are run based on enrollment sizes (class sizes are usually 30-35 students) so most, with the exception of English and history classes, are only offered 1-2 times per school year. Some AP classes are two trimesters and some are for three. This makes it very difficult to schedule 4+ AP classes since there is often only one time to take a specific class. For example, senior band is during 2nd period ONLY every trimester. That would mean a senior band member could take no AP class that is offered during 2nd period. I hope this clarifies my post!

@hville7, that makes a lot more sense… also i haven’t heard of too many schools doing trimesters… thats interesting. we have block scheduling so it def allows for more flexibility IMO. But yeah i guess the upside to that is to stop freaks like me from taking too many AP classes :P
