The committee has acted on your application, and we have mailed notice of the decision. If for some reason you do not receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

Wow that was a quick change of status after just 3 days!!!

Btw, does USC inform admission decisions by email?? or just snail mail? because I didn't get anything in email. So now i'll just wait for the mail. Although comparing to the stats average USC applicants, I'm no way near them.

Yesterday, I got the DHL email, and today, my status page changed.

My son also applied to film and his app was in my Dec 10. He had been on please send grades since 2/14 (he sent them). Checked this morning and his message is "We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st." Wish it said something was in the mail. Congrats to all of you who have been accepted!

Sheed: I think we need to take a break....My d has the same status; I am guessing that those who have this status have not been reviewed yet, and will probably be in the next group (which, who knows, could be at the end of this week).....Ours was updated on 2/10....In the meantime, freaking out here about others that will be released in the next two weeks....I'm only hoping that a strong acceptance comes before the rejection (thinkin' Wash U).....

At least if a rejection from USC is in the cards, we won't know until April....

updated 3/3: We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st.

that's exactly what mine says too...it makes me nervous since everyone's who got admitted already said something along the lines of "we are reviewing your application.."

Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don't receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit senior year grades at www.usc.edu/MDYResponse, even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st.

Status just changed!!!

Anyone know the difference between these two statuses:

Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don't receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

And

We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st.

It seems most of the people with the former were accepted in this first wave.

The other question is whether anyone who ever had the second status EVER ended up with the 1st......in other words, has anyone's status changed AFTER the "no additional info required" or is this a hold until rejections are sent later on?

Normally, the "being reviewed" is the last step before "acted upon", the latter meaning that the decision has actually been mailed. In the very first scholarship waves (late Jan to mid Feb), there never was the "fall grades required". So I think with these waves, the fall grades is requested before the "being reviewed".
However, I think that in these waves, since they have to deal with some 30000 apps, the status changes are not always updated, since some appear to be getting acceptances without the "being reviewed" or the "acted upon".

I would tend to believe that those with "being reviewed" will get the decision very soon. What I'm not sure about is whether one can assume that the present "being reviewed" ones will actually receive the acceptances. In other words, do they put aside the weaker apps to be "reviewed" later, or do they review them at the same time?
