<p>I sent my application in late-October for consideration in the priority deadline. My status now says that they've finished a preliminary evaluation of my application.</p>

<p>If I'm applying using the paper application will I have a status page on the USC website? Or do I just know my stuff is in when they send be back that postcard that I include in the envelope with all of my other forms?</p>
<p>You'll be able to access it on another part of the website; it links to the financial aid page or something of that sort.</p>

<p>I sent it in on the 9th (supplements by mail on the 10th). It took about a week for the "preliminary review" to be completed.</p>
<p>I'm not so sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. The more I think about it, the more I think my supplements/essays sucked. T____T Waiting until March/April may indeed kill me.</p>

<p>is there any way to know if theyve recieved your teacher recs? i know having 2 isnt required, but i did, so they wont notify me if its missing because as far as they know it doesnt exist. can i check this somehow?!!?</p>
<p>perhaps there is a connection between sending in the optional part I app and the speedy-ness of the application review process? I sent in my part I app in like...July (or whenever it came out). :P</p>
<p>My son submitted his application online December 6, and the "preliminary review completed" message showed up on December 13. He didn't use the optional prelim app. Let's hope the quick review doesn't mean he's an automatic reject!</p>

<p>i guess it probably means im not one of the very best candidates or a definite no go? probably predictible since i have only a 3.56 uw.</p>
<p>acm - I wouldn't read anything into this (although I know it's hard not to). Maybe it just took awhile for your transcript to arrive, or maybe the person assigned to read your file was just extra busy. It sounds like you applied on paper? It does seem like applying online can speed up the process, based on what people are reporting here. For the extra letter, you will probably have to call the admission office to be sure it arrived.</p>
<p>I sent in the preliminary Part I back in August and sent in my online app on November 27 and it still says "we have received and are currently reviewing." I think it may just be random or it took awhile for my transcripts and recs to get out there (I'm in NJ). </p>
<p>I think it's nothing to worry about; we're all going to find out March-April anyway...I just try not to think about it and hope for the best.</p>
