<p>HouseOfCards- Yes, applying to Marshall or the Cinema school will possibly delay your decisions because your application has to go through two schools. Once the USC School of Arts and Sciences passes the application, they send it to the counselors at those two schools and they have to look over it as well.</p>

<p>I guess I should be glad it changed. Still says Jan 17th, though. It doesn't say it's received my Student Non-Filer form, though, and I sent it a while back. I also applied to the College of Letters and Science. I'm a Classics major. I was in preliminary review before this.</p>
<p>If there was a wave on friday i probably didnt get in...because im international and i didnt get the DHL email telling me that they have recieved my admission packet......blahh</p>
<p>Today there were only two letters in the mail and both were for my dad. I checked the mailbox twice because there's usually more mail in there. Like ads, spam mail, etc. Yet nothing. DX Why Jesus?</p>
<p>Hmmm...wondering if EVERYONE who had 'preliminary review' status before now has the updated 'your application is being reviewed by the admission committee...' message? Is there anyone out there that is still showing 'preliminary review' status??</p>
<p>For everyone saying waves came out on Fridays, did any of you get something in the mail today? I didn't and am disappointed, especially since it's a been a month since I was first in "reviewed by admission committee" status.</p>

<p>My D's changed to currently being reviewed -- yay, finally some action for these kids from NJ. Rodney -- my D refuses to check hers too -- but she did give me the password so my husband and I check all the time -- we're obsessed! I'm sure that even if our kids are in this wave of acceptances we won't see any mail from CA until at least Monday -- probably Tuesday for us because in our town the mail always seems to be a day behind. </p>

<p>kevster1001- From experience, I think you will receive your acceptance packet before your status is changed to "we have acted on."</p>
<p>hey guys, i'm really trying to manage my expectations right now... very hard to do. My status was changed to app is being reviewed from preliminary review. the date is 1/8/2008. I don't remember when it was preliminary.</p>
<p>Do you guys think that means there is a good chance I was accepted? I did the Optional Part I of the app, had an optional interview with my admissions rep, and also cited that I knew a very prominent alumni pretty well. He created the movie A Beautiful Mind, ect.</p>
<p>I had to overcompensate from my 1860 SAT and 640 LIT and 650 US HIS SAT II..</p>

<p>bretjohnson90, if you look back on the recent posts, it looks like everyone's status was changed but the date did not so chances are, you started the preliminary stage on 1/8/08 and they haven't updated it yet. I think the only good sign for anybody is an 'acted upon' message or possibly an 'in review' status that occurred in early feb-late feb.</p>

<p>no, not by any means! right now, absolutely everything is still up in the air, so nothing is a sure thing. remember, there are about 36000 or so applications to go through, and they can't go through everyone at the same time, so if anything, your decision might come later, but doesn't necessarily mean a rejection at all. plus, i'm sure a large amount of the applicants had their status changed in the past day or two, so they probably are just starting to review a new pool of individuals. Don't worry too much! The app is in and the best thing you can do for yourself is to enjoy the remainder of your senior year and let the chips fall as they may. They probably haven't made a decision for a majority of the applicants, considering they have until April 1st to notify students. Good luck and I hope you get in!</p>
