Yeah I feel bad for chicks walking without guys when they walk past the younger hobos. They aren't reserved at all, and they will like get in your way and ****.

TAMU and UTD are going to give you a lot more money, but they don't have the same caliber of education or quality of life UT does.

LOL. Hilarious on both accounts.

Could you tell me the caliber of education in the 800+ student classes taught by TA's at UT? Or the "quality of life" from the people who got in automatically through cap at the high school known as UTSA?

gstein, go away you troll. You periodically stop by the UT threads to trash the school.

We get it, you're an Aggie and you love it. Good for you. Now go play in College Station.

I think there is tremendous quality of life from not losing football games.

So, did anybody hear? A&M is the new Baylor in football.

people don't seriously base their decision on what school to go to on how many football games the school wins, do they?

I doubt very seriously that it would be the determining factor, but it might be considered by some as a factor.

It depends on what one considers entertainment; if big time college sports is important to them, then a winning program is a key ingredient to a rewarding college experience.

Look at the effect that UF's 4 national championships has had on number of applications.

"Trash the school"? I simply stated known facts, you implied the rest. Besides, I thought I'd visit this board after a fellow longhorn decided to visit the Aggie board and spill lies... So at least I keep my comments truthful. But cute attempt at a rebuttal.

What about the quality of life from losing the Lone star Showdown to a school who spends less overall on their athletic programs?

lonestarshowdown.net - 2007-2008 State Farm Lone Star Showdown Results

Only sports we care about here are Football, Basketball, and Baseball... you can have the rest. And even though I have never heard of the lone star showdown in my life, we are winning right now...

Lone Star Showdown? I've never heard of it either.

I'd say that whatever money was spent to develop the "logo" and website was a bust...

oops, wrong thread...

Add me to the list of those who have never heard of the Lone Star Showdown. A&M is just obsessed with us.

Your post is wrong, foxshox. The only sport that matters is football. We could beat A&M in everything but football and people would say our sports were terrible that year. We could lose to A&M in everything but football and no one will care because we beat the aggies.

And gstein, there are no 700 student classes taught by TAs at UT. Classes aren't allowed to be larger than 500 from what I understand and any class that large will be taught at a minimum by an assistant professor. TAs tend to lead small discussion sessions. Graduate students do teach some courses, but these are almost always less than 50 students at UT.

Man, the UT A&M rivalry is the worst on forums lol

DP

Ignorance is bliss.

Here's photos of that "logo" on Joe Jamail...

And I bet you guys go around bragging about how your football team is soo great when you don't know the first thing about them. Typical t-sip fan base.

You're right, a stupid marketing ploy has everything to do with football. The rivalry was not of any importance this year. **** I left the game midway through the third quarter. The OU game was way more fun.

gstein, just as an aside - knowing your affiliation with A&M, you are not doing your university proud by coming on this website and trashing UT.

As a parent who's child is contemplating college choices next year, your behavior is extremely offputting, immature and ridiculous. If you are an example of the "typical Aggie", then what I've been told about their overall kindness and class is incorrect.

And: you claim to not be a troll - see if the definition (dictionary.com) fits:

2. An individual who chronically trolls in sense 1; regularly posts specious arguments, flames or personal attacks to a newsgroup, discussion list, or in email for no other purpose than to annoy someone or disrupt a discussion. Trolls are recognizable by the fact that the have no real interest in learning about the topic at hand - they simply want to utter flame bait. Like the ugly creatures they are named after, they exhibit no redeeming characteristics, and as such, they are recognized as a lower form of life on the net, as in, "Oh, ignore him, he's just a troll."

UT is hands down the best school in all of Texas. I know this doesnt relate to the recent discussion but to the earlier posts. Yes it is true that UT employs the top 10% rule and enrolls close to 9000 kids a year, but it is due to Texas mandate. I am number 5/940 in my school and ill be the first to tell you taht top 10% rule is ********, there are many kids who are dumb as hell who get into UT because of this rule. Even though there are a fraction of students at UT who are indeed idiots, UT also houses the second most national merit finalists in the nation and lots of other brilliant kids. The BBA program is top notch, the engineering program is great as well and if you check as years go by it has only gotten better and will continue to get better. UT has an eclectic mix of students many dumb many very intelligent, and from what ive heard from UT students, the dumb kids eventually get weeded out and switch to some cop-out major. That being said, i am not commited UT it is my safety but still Its a great environment and a very high caliber school

P.s.- A&M is just like highschool all over again, same kids same stuff, loads of dumb ppl!

^ amen.....

You're going to find lots of dumb people at UT. You're going to find lots of dumb people everywhere. It's not like A&M is the only place lol.
