What dorms would be the best for me?

Hey everyone! I’m an incoming first-year (male) who’s trying to figure out which dorms to request once the portal opens.

I want a dorm that is not really a big party place. I’m not doing Brown or other residential halls because I don’t want to be obligated to a bunch of people and instead want to find my own path.

Also, does anyone have the scoop on the CLEANEST dorms? I have germophobia and OCD and really hate getting dust, dirt, grime, general weird things, etc. on my hands. I’ve tried to find this information online but come up empty.

First year students do not get to choose their own dorm. The U. wants students living with a cross-section of other students. You can apply for a residential college, but even within the residential college, you will be assigned randomly within those buildings.

You can of course choose your own roommate. That is your best chance for having a clean room - to search out someone who has a similar attitude. There is a time limit on finding someone before the U. assigns you a roommate.

By the way, a strong interest in partying and a high level of cleanliness are usually not found in the same roommate.
