What Engineering Major in UMTC is the best for finding a job?

<p>Hello everyone.
I am newly admitted to the institute of technology.
Personally I wanna major in ME but my parents do not support me since they believe that ME students won't be popular in the job market and the working condition is not good.
And I think they are quite right about this.
They want me to major in ChemE or EE or MatSE.
Can anyone give me any suggestion on which field I should choose based on the difficulty of the job-hunting and the reputation of the UMN department?

<p>Twin Cities is top 3 or 4 nationally in ChemE, and the job market for ChemE's is good.</p>

<p>U of MN ChemE is always top 3 and there are a lot of recruiters in the area</p>

<p>ChemE is great~it is the third in UG rank and the second in Grad school rank.(according to UNWR2008)
But what about EE and MatSE?
I think MSE is probably better since it's a comparatively new field of study and research. And the rank of MSE is also quite decent.
Also EE is somewhat monopoly and that usually suggests a higher salary$_$..
