What exactly do colleges look at, regarding AP classes?

So this is what we're looking at:
9th grade- 2 on AP World History (sad year, had depression, grades slump but that's another story...)
10th grade- 4 on Psych and 5 on Spanish language. WHOO!
11th grade- 4 on Spanish literature and ? On ap english lang (I do not know what I got since it has not been mailed to me yet.)

So since freshman year I improved with my AP scores. I have a 3.6 gpa, more than 100 hours in comm service, 26 on ACT, 1740 on SAT (only took it one time, I will take it again lol) I'm not asking for a 'chance me' but as you can see i'm working hard to get into FSU lol. I'm still pretty average and I have senior year coming so hopefully that'll make a difference.

I just don't want FSU or UF or UCF to get turned off by my 'off' freshman year. Will they most likely be happy that I improved over the years? Thanks guys for the feedback!

I don’t think getting low scores on any of them won’t be the lone factor in deciding the admission process. I think they would much rather see that you took AP classes and sent them scores than not doing so. So even if you messed up on your first test, that probably won’t be a factor counting against you.

Also, it happens that I might be going to FSU one day as well. Good luck on admissions!

I too also have screwed up one of my test scores for AP and am concerned how that will affect me
For admissions at smaller and top notch schools (such as ivy)

I have been told by an adcom that if you think your grades or tests show a “hole”, then take the SAT Subject tests in that area. This should certainly help the OP with his Freshman AP score.
