A resume is required as part of the application, but I have no idea what sorts of things that aren't on the average chronological resume for job seekers are supposed to be on this one for Smith.

I was thinking:

Name and other particulars
Objective
Education (HS and Colleges attended)
Extra-Curricular Activities (Do I simply put what I've done in College, or also HS activities?)
Volunteer Experience
Languages Spoken

MiChiamano Mia is applying as an Ada, so the requirements are different. MiM, it might be good to preface your posts with that so that you get the most relevant info to your situation.

I would definitely call the admissions office and ask them what they are expecting. They can give you the best, most informed advice.

As for my assumption (assumption being key here), I think that they want job experience too for Adas. Many Adas do have extensive work experience before they end up at Smith and I’m sure Smith wants to know what you’ve been doing to support yourself as well as what you’ve been doing academically and to volunteer.

In terms of set up and how to format it, Smith’s CDO website has great resume samples available online for free with a guide to how to write excellent resumes. They’re intended for job-seeking grads, but there’s no reason why they wouldn’t apply here too. They even have examples of academic resumes (for students doing resumes for graduate school). you could probably adapt it.
