this may sounds like a stupid question, but i am a bit confused about the working experience part for b-schools. does working at a bank as a teller count or do i need to graduate with a ba then work a few years with a "real" job before i apply to bschools? i plan to work 25-30 hours at a bank for three years then apply for bschool if that can work. also, what jobs will strengthen my application and is something that i can get as a first year undergrad student? thanks for all comments/advice. anything is appreciated.

I think any work experience is counted, and the more leadership positions, the better. Example: work at a bank as a teller, then move up to a teller manager or loan officer (something that shows job progression and heightened responsibility), would be good work experience.

Obviously working part-time as a bank teller is better than nothing at all.

I would just caution you not to expect it to be equivalent to having real full-time post-grad work experience. In short, you still shouldn't expect to be able to get into a top-flight B-school right after graduation. If you can get in, more power to you, but don't hold your breath.

I got a question.
How hard is it to apply to top business schools right after college with only work experiences during summer?
Is 1 or 2 years of "real" work experiences enough?
