I’ve heard of them but not the details other than programs are getting merged.
The cuts may possibly affect faculty retention- I know this year faculty retention rates were about the same as previous years, but there’s the fear that in the future high quality faculty may be lured away to other universities with promises of higher pay and more stability.
Tuition is being raised for OOS (not Minnesota) and grad students as well in the coming years- this change would apply to many UW system campuses. I believe they are working on negotiating an extension for in-state tuition freeze.
